Southend fan: we are well capable of a top six finish
Ahead of their game against the Valiants we speak to a very confident fan from the excellent shrimperzone.com site
Thanks to REP for posing the questions
About the fan…
My username is TOMMY2HOLES and I’ve been a Blues fans since 1993.
About the opposition…
How are your team doing?
I think most fans of all clubs hope for a good season. After a very poor start when Phil Brown was under pressure we have turned it around and have a capable squad. We are well capable of a top six finish.
Players to watch?
Simon Cox is too good for league One. He is very clever and scores and also provides plenty of assists. Wordsworth has a wand of a left foot and he also scores goals.
Your thoughts on the manager?
Phil Brown has an arrogance that means when things are going well he can pull it off. When things go badly he just sounds ridiculous.
A score prediction and predicted attendance?
If we’re are on form then 3-1 to Southend with Cox and Wordsworth on the score sheet. Attendance between 6 to 7,000.
A guide for Vale fans…
Any recommended pubs, places to eat, parking etc?
There is street parking around the ground. The Blue Boar is a designated away pub and it is two minutes from the ground. The favourite away pub is the Cliff. It has a cracking selection of ales and is about fifteen mins walk from the ground. It always show the lunchtime game and usually puts on a few beers deals from your local brewery. It’s well worth the walk. There’s a good chippy opposite. Pubs in town/seafront are about 15 to 20 minutes from the ground.
