Omar Haughton is reportedly the latest player to leave Vale Park
Press reports in the local media suggest that winger Omar Haughton has become the latest player to leave Vale Park.
A report on Stafford Rangers in the Sentinel newspaper notes that “one of those young lads brought from the bench was new signing Omar Haughton, signed on Friday following his release by Port Vale.”
The release of Haughton has not been officially confirmed by the club but if the winger has left it will come as no real surprise as sadly the winger has not featured at all for the Vale first-team.
Former youth teamer Haughton was originally released in the summer by then manager Rob Page but was brought back for a second chance by Chairman Norman Smurthwaite. The winger was named on the bench for the Football League Trophy games with Derby County B and Mansfield Town but was not brought on.
Haughton’s exit follows those of Calvin Mac-Intosch, Miguel Santos and the conclusion of Sam Hart’s loan deal as caretaker manager Michael Brown rings the changes.
