Pre-match thoughts
“I will make six changes because some players are tired. Some players are very tired and need rest…”
Bruno Ribeiro
Team news
Bruno Ribeiro says he’s going to make six changes to his team which makes our possible Vale line-up (below) blinking difficult. Favourites to come in include Rigino Cicilia (above), Sebastien Amoros and Gezim Shalaj.
We’ve taken a guess at what the Vale line-up could be below… it includes six changes, whether they are the right six changes, well, we’ll have to wait and see…
Possible Vale line-up:
Santos
Purkiss – Streete – Smith – Knops
Shalaj – Amoros – Grant – Foley
Cicilia – Jones
Last time we met…
The teams last met way back in 2003 when Vale won 1-0 thanks to a goal from veteran John Durnin (above). The game at Vale Park finished 4-2 to the Valiants.
Overall record
Port Vale wins: 21
Port Vale losses: 13

Club connections
The Valiants could face a defence featuring two former Vale players – former loanee Krystian Pearce plus Lee Collins who spent four years with Vale. Collins originally joined on loan from Wolves before the move was made permanent.
A steady presence at either centre-half or left-back, Collins was a mainstay of the side until the slump into administration in 2012. Vale needed to sell a player to stay afloat and Collins was picked to be loaned out to Barnsley with the £50,000 loan fee helping Vale to keep trading. In the summer of 2012 the move was made permanent and after a spell in Northampton he joined Mansfield in 2015.
