Port Vale sign midfielder Paulo Tavares
Port Vale have agreed to sign midfielder Paolo Tavares on a two-year contract.
A club statement says:
Port Vale are delighted to confirm the signing of 30 year-old Portuguese midfielder, Paolo Tavares after the player signed a two-year deal.
Paulo will be no stranger to new manager Bruno Ribeiro, who he played for at previous club, Vitoria Setubal.
Tavares, who was born in Massarelos, Portugal, began his career at Senhora da Hora, before moving on to Leixoes, where he spent eight years of his career.
His time at Leixoes included loan spells with Padroense, Ribeirao and Estoril between 2004-2008.
When he returned to his parent club, the side were playing in the first tier of Portuguese football, until relegation in 2010.
Tavares then moved on to Vitoria Setubal in 2012, making over 100 appearances during his time at the club.
