Port Vale 1-1 Peterborough Utd
Enoch Andoh scored his first senior Vale goal but the Valiants missed two second-half penalties as they drew with Peterborough United.
Rob Page made three changes to his starting eleven with Byron Moore, Michael O’Connor and Remie Streete all drafted in. Brothers Jak and Ben Alnwick faced each other in goal.
Vale took the lead on the stroke of half-time as Enoch Andoh netted his first Vale goal after good work from Byron Moore.
The Valiants could have made the match safe on 50 minutes when Andoh was fouled in the box. But O’Connor, on his return to the Vale team, saw his spot-kick saved.
Vale were to rue that miss as Peterborough made no mistake when they were also awarded a penalty. Michael Bostwick made no mistake after Soulimane Coulibaly was fouled in the box.
In the final moments, Vale were dramatically given another penalty and regular spot-kicker Sam Foley stepped up only to hit his effort against the bar.
The Valiants were to regret missing two chances to earn all three points as it ended 1-1 at Vale Park.
