Robbie Earle’s son, Otis Earle, has been drafted by MLS side FC Dallas for the 2015-2016 season. Earle is one of eight college players to be drafted into the MLS
Otis is a left-back and was playing for college side UC Riverside (the University of California’s football side) to some success. In fact, Earle was tipped by the official MLS website as one of the top picks from this year’s draft.
His father, Robbie, needs no introduction to Vale fans. He progressed through the side’s junior ranks to make over 300 appearances for the club, scoring 77 goals before he was transferred to Wimbledon for £775,000. He is regarded as one of Port Vale’s finest-ever midfielders.
20 year-old Otis was born in London but after several years in the USA he qualifies for a green card. He is viewed as an attacking left-back having begun his career as a left-winger.
All of us at OVF wish him the best of luck in the MLS.
