Another striker to join Valiants?
Former Manchester City forward Alex Nimely is training with the Valiants and could be added to Rob Page’s squad on a permanent basis.
The Vale are still looking for another forward to join the squad following the injury to Tom Pope.
The current players in favour are Dany N’Guessan and Ben Williamson but neither have been consistently prolific this season. N’Guessan has scored twice in five games but is still seeking full fitness after being out of the game since March. Williamson has managed seven goals but is perhaps best employed as an “impact” player rather than a reliable source of goals.
Loanee Jordan Slew is currently out of favour while targetman Achille Campion is untested at this level.
Nimely was once described by former Man City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson as the “most talented” youngster the club had ever signed, but he failed to make an impression with the club and at 23, he is currently a free agent.
