Port Vale have announced the signing of 25 year-old defender Jasper Moon on a free transfer.
The six foot one inch tall central defender was released by Burton Albion at the end of last season. Moon becomes Vale’s first signing of the summer.
Moon made 51 appearances for Albion in League One including 28 last season. He began his career in the Leicester City academy before spells at Barnsley and York City (loan).
Manager Jon Brady told the official website: “Jasper was a player we identified early because he possesses many of the qualities we value. At 25, he has already built up good experience, but we firmly believe he still has significant room for growth and development.
“He’s a strong defender, an excellent professional and, just as importantly, a character who will help drive standards both on and off the pitch. We want people at this football club who are committed, ambitious and prepared to challenge themselves and those around them every day, and Jasper fits that profile perfectly.
“We’re delighted he’s chosen to join Port Vale. He’s hungry to improve, eager to contribute and we’re looking forward to working with him as we continue building a competitive squad capable of moving this football club forward.”
