Hughes: Ben can make big impact
Veteran Lee Hughes has told the Sentinel that Ben Williamson has the potential to “go a lot higher than League One.”
I see a lot of potential in him and I’m sure he can go a lot higher than League One…
Williamson was mostly used as an impact substitute last season, but he agreed a two year deal in the summer, an indication of the potential that the club believe he has.
Although Williamson is now 24, he was a late developer in the game and Hughes feels he can develop his game further.
He told the Sentinel: “Ben’s a very talented lad who’s improving all the time.
“I see a lot of potential in him and I’m sure he can go a lot higher than League One.
“He’s someone who has everything a good striker needs. He has terrific pace, he’s really powerful, his movement is great and he has awareness too – he has a massive future ahead of him.”
