Treble for Purcell as Vale hit eight
Tadhg Purcell did his chances of a permanent deal with Port Vale no harm as the trialist netted a hat-trick in an 8-0 friendly win over Alsager Town.
The other Vale goalscorers were Ben Williamson (two), new signing Ashley Vincent, Tom Pope and an own-goal.

“We’ve got no new injuries and it was a good exercise in terms of fitness.”
