Port Vale FC have confirmed that the club will undertake a summer trip to Ireland as part of the side’s pre-season preparations.
In a decision that’s perhaps symbolic of a chaotic summer at Vale Park, the club has now announced that supporters will now be able to see Vale’s friendly against Tranmere, although the Coventry fixture will remain closed to fans.
In a strongly worded statement, the Port Vale Supporters club have hit out at a “pathetic statement” by the club regarding friendlies being played behind closed doors. Chairman Pete Williams added “This announcement today is a sad indictment of those currently in charge at Port Vale who frankly we wouldn’t trust to run a bath.”
A club statement on the official Port Vale website says that Vale’s home friendly games will have to take place behind closed doors as the period in administration means the club have been unable to carry out the “usual maintenance work.” The news will increase fears over whether Vale Park’s safety certificate will be ready […]
