We take a leaf through the pages of the Spurs versus Port Vale FA Cup Fourth Round programme of 1955.

About this game

Taking place the season after the Iron Curtain side had reached the semi-final stage, this was a fourth round tie. Vale had reached that stage after a replay win over West Ham. A crowd of 50,684 saw an exciting game during which two Ken Griffiths goals were cancelled out by four Spurs goals as the home side won 4-2.
