Vale appeal for fans to turn out in force
Port Vale have put on a united front with the Supporters Club and Chairman Norman Smurthwaite both calling on fans to attend the game against Swindon Town.
Smurthwaite has indicated that he would sign another new player if fans showed their support by turning out for the game.
If the fans have the appetite for the play-offs then they will turn up on Saturday and support us…
The Vale owner told the Sentinel: “If the fans have the appetite for the play-offs then they will turn up on Saturday and support us.
“If we get a good turn out then it demonstrates to me that fans want to progress to the play offs. If they don’t, then I will save myself the £40,000 to £50,000.”
Mark Porter of the Supporters Club backed the call saying: “After our fans gave brilliant vocal support at Coventry it would be great if 6,000 or 7,000 can do the same this weekend.
“It would be great if everyone can bring a friend to the game.”
