One-club man and Port Vale legend Roy Sproson tops the list of Port Vale all-time appearances. His statue overlooks the entrance to the Vale Park stadium. His nephew, Phil Sproson, is third on the list after a lengthy spell in the 1970s and 80s. A third locally born player Harry Poole is second on the list of appearances. Places four to seven are taken by players who appeared under legendary manager John Rudge and are – Andy Porter, Dean Glover, Ray Walker and Neil Aspin.
