When are the fixtures usually released? Just wandering whether most people will have bought their tickets on early bird, before having a chance to check our fixtures.

Or could it be that fixtures could be set at the start of the season but later rearranged for TV?

That's exactly what will happen...... Sky will wait for the fixture list from the EFL.... then decide which games they are going to show. This means that fixtures/ k.o. times and days will be altered to suit themselves. As for the fans... well f*** em.

Hope Crawley get lost. One of the worst away days I can ever imagine. At least at MK Dons the ground is decent when you get there.

If I was tripping down to Crawley just for the match, straight there and back by coach or car, I would agree with you. However, I usually ship the wife down to Brighton for a few days... great place for a break... and just get the train up to the match. Job done!

First of all Bin the Recruitment Team .

    ... or we could send them to watch some actual matches and players rather than ;

    - looking at stats

    - listening to agents

    - watching youtube  videos of players' highlights, while ignoring their 'lowlights'

    - ignoring players' medical records

... and generally sitting on their fat ar**s instead of getting out there and doing a decent, effective job.

...... on the other hand, you are probably right.... just bin 'em off !

  4. I always had the impression that he didn't really want to come here in the first place, that it was something Man U wanted rather than it being his choice.  Played just over half a match, got injured (?) , looked out of his depth as Santa said, and probably didn't fancy a physical relegation battle when (if) he regained his fitness. Certainly not what we needed to replace Arblaster/Devine.

  5. Actually I was trying to ask the question, hence the question mark, as to whether or not some of the money spent on community projects could have gone  towards a better player budget. Obviously it was a hamfisted attempt, but I can glean the answer from the replies.  However, since I am not an accountant, I must remember not to ask any further financial questions and I assume (probably incorrectly) that other non-accountants will do the same.

As others have said I'd snap hand off for last game scenario.

I'm struggling to imagine us 4 points clear with 1 game left !

Hmmmmm..... 4 points clear with one game to play or winning the lottery...... let me think.... which is more likely?

  7. I will be delighted if we can take it to the last game v Cambridge, and still have the possibility of League 1 football in our own hands. I suspect that this is the best we can hope for.

I'd go with that but put Balmer in instead of Yak.  Maybe bring Yak on once he tires and is more likely to make an error.  Balmer's better at bringing the ball out, has better distribution and gets closer to his man.

Sorry, Nelly... I'm afraid I must completely disagree with you on Balmer. Although how we see the game/players is all about opinions - and this forum is where we can express them - the only place I want to see Balmer is on the train to London.

  9. I don’t like Ripley having so much possession and don’t think his distribution is that good. The ball to Balmer the other night was terrible and difficult to control at chest height, with the Boro player being on Balmer straight away."    (Playa Amodores)

Personally, I don't think Balmer should be in the team at all.... he looks clumsy and always has a (costly) mistake in him I thought a player of his supposed pedigree - Crystal Palace reserve - would have anticipated the danger of the fast approaching Palace player and simply let the ball go out for a throw in while we regrouped.

  10.  "The next three games are huge for the possible direction of his career."  (valiant steve)

Personally, I couldn't care less about the direction of his career - as long as it is not with the Vale. Carol/Flitcroft need to get rid of Crosby asap, and should have spent the last few weeks seeking/sounding out possible candidates for the position of our next manager.

A high percentage of goals are scored from crosses , wingers going to the byeline and whipping the ball across the six yard box . We have no wingers , and lets be honest our wing backs are defenders .

True, we don't possess any wingers at all.... what we do is try to work the ball into crossing positions, then when we do get the chance to cross it, we more often than not, turn back, give it to the full/wing back who passes it to the centre mid/half who gives it to the other full back or goalkeeper  ..... ad infinitum. As boring and unproductive as reading this post !!

We need to cross it whenever we get the chance - Connor Grant did slightly improve us in this area yesterday - and if the (non) strikers know it's coming, they might be able to get on the end of it ....    ...might !!

  12. I suspect that some of the people who won't be attending this game 'because of the price' are choosing not to attend because Middlesboro are not much of an attraction. I'm sure that if we had drawn Man U or Liverpool, the money would be flying out of their pockets, their attendance would be guaranteed and there would be umpteen complaints from others about not being able to get a ticket!                                                                                                                                  That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it... feel free to disagree if you wish to, but I definitely won't be getting into a discussion/argument about it !!

Poch or possibly Zidane would be my guess on it. If I was Potter I’d keep building up my CV at Brighton than risk the Chelsea job at this point.

Agreed.... plenty of extra money available at Chelsea for both his wages and for (even more) players, but that comes with even greater expectations. At Brighton he will be on a decent wedge without all those expectations... he should stay at Brighton and continue to progress the club and his own career.  I don't suppose he's too worried about the cost of living crisis on his current salary, but he could always use Chelsea's reported interest as a means to get a new contract/salary increase at Brighton.
