Something tells me he’s been instructed to talk about Port Vale in the first person. It’s hilarious how he tries to fit “us” and “we” into every statement. 🤣
100% he has been told, he very nearly slipped up at one point of that interview and quickly corrected himself !

It's possible for us to be a good citizen for the local community AND to achieve success on the field - as Vale demonstrated in the promotion season.
The fact that the football has gone badly this season doesn't take away from the worth of this community achievement.
Port Vale is a lot more than just a football club.First & foremost being just a football club should be the priority and that should come way ahead of anything else, unfortunately being a football club was well down on the list of priorities after this seasons showing !!

Why does Moore keep saying things like "they", "Port Vale", "the Vale".
It's "we" Darren.
YOU are in charge of this.
Take some accountability!
He's done that from day one if you go back & listen to his early interviews - already washing his hands of the mess in my opinion.

So Matt Hancock has announced earlier today that next season prices will remain frozen at the current season's prices regardless of what league we are in.
What are peoples thoughts ?

Pointless asking Jesus, he may have turned water into wine but he even he won't turn Jones into a consistently fit footballer !!

A draw would actually be a mega result because there are no matches left harder than this. If we can compete V Peterborough we can against anyone.
Personally I think Bolton away will be a harder game as they may still be looking at automatic promotion but agreed a draw would be a great result.

any suggestions on where to park & get a beer ?
-
Great news for the club but I'm still confused as to how some folk think it will turn the team into a bunch of fighters & good enough to stay up ??
This squad is awful and DF leaving won't make any difference to that. We can only hope we rebuild well next season UTV !!

The only thing in the future I want to know is how far away is Uche from returning .
Too me he is our best hope of at least winning 3 to 4 games .
I really like him and hope he stays at Vale .
He as so much to offer .
I've already said that's me done for the season, however if I hear Uche 's back then he alone is worth me attending some gamesi love the way he plays ok the ball doesn't always stick but when it does the fellas a delight
If we can get him bringing out the best in Wilson Garrity and chislett again we may survive I know it seems unlikely but I stand by what I say this league is not as good as people make it out to be .
Most games we have beat ourselves .
Uche to score 7 big goals in 9 games may even bring the best out of Loft.
To be fair you are easily pleased if Uche coming back is enough to get you watching them again, I have also seen nothing to suggest he will get 7 goals in 9 games given his record so far.

Yeah gotta get rid of the dead wood
It's a no brainer , even if they have to pay up contracts ,we can rebuild with more commited players for the long term
Agreed, the only problem I have is that I don't trust the current "recruitment team" to find the replacements.

im not buying into this " oh look weve turned a corner ". im firmly in the Flitcroft out camp. First team is a mess and has been for 18 months. Not even staying up now will convince me otherwise.
And this is the problem, IF and yes that a very big IF we managed to stay up DF is going nowhere and I wouldn't trust him to get this squad to anything like acceptable. May be better in the long term to go down but still not convinced Carol would sack him anyway so we're screwed regardless.

What you say is true, but it will still make a lot of people very happy if he is sacked, at a time when we have little to be happy about. So for that alone he should be sacked. 🙂
Totally agree - I'm amazed he's still here myself & it's his fault we are in this mess, my original point was that results will still not improve. Maybe a more "feel good factor" from the crowd may help if was sacked but let's be honest we're still awful no matter how much the crowd have already tried .

I don't know how you can say that when Carol has repeatedly told us he is responsible for anything that touches the ball. My experience of football and life in general is that good leaders and bad leaders are at the centre of the performance of any human organisation. Anyway, I'm willing to give it a try - what do we have to lose?
So are you saying that DF is responsible for Smith making stupid mistakes every week ? The manager not picking the one defender who looks like he wants to defend ( Lopata ) , Loft will suddenly become a striker ? I could go on.
I agree he is responsible & they are players he has brought in, the point I am trying to make is they will still be crap if he gets the sack.

I think I can safely assume that removing Flitcroft from the Club would be a useful change that might even bring immediate positive results. I'm certainly happy to try it, as he won't figure in my Vale fantasy football set-up next year in any universe, parallel or otherwise...
Whilst there is no doubt DF has to go, there is no way him leaving will bring positive results on the pitch, this squad is shockingly bad and most not even up for the fight. That won't change time soon with or without DF there.

I thought exactly the same yesterday. It is as though he is a manager 'on loan' from the dole for a short period.
Just everything about Vale is strange.
Almost feels like he is distancing himself from the mess, to a degree I understand that but it hardly says "We're in it together" to me.

I turned it off after a few minutes, saying we scored 2 wonderful goals was a bit much when one was a pen 😆 and then just kept saying ‘ community ‘ ffs Darren say what you want to say not the script that’s been given to you. I’d like nobody to get a win more than the new gaffer mate, can’t be doing with those interviews tho like you say it’s pure waffle.
Is it just me that finds it strange when he says things like "Port Vale have got to do this" etc. ? Maybe just me but I would be saying "We have got to do this" , either way I don't find his interviews all that rousing.

I've also tried my best to back him & can't help thinking there is a footballer in there somewhere but now I'm sounding as stupid as Carol did post match Saturday - Phenomenal indeed !!

I don't know why people are criticising Darren Moore. He is trying to work out a formation to get the best out of our dross. However, the defence is slow & prone to errors, the wing backs are useless, central midfielders are unfit & short of numbers, forwards incapable of scoring. Goalie is ok & Dipepa did well !
According to Carol, Moore told her he needed 3 games to see what he is working with. Whilst last night was only the fourth, if the second half tactics are anything to go by then both he & the fans are in for a bumpy ride.

Showed a lot more balls than some of those who are our players ! Some of them should be embarrassed that he's being spoke of as player of the season but they won't care.
