Salford City manager Graham Alexander said that both teams had spells on top and his side “deserved a draw.”
Vale took the lead in the 82nd minute and will consider themselves unlucky to have conceded a last-gasp equaliser.
Alexander told the media: “I think results have matched our performances. I thought in the first game we were the best team and deservedly won. At Crawley in our second game they were the best team, but today I thought there were spells when both teams were on top.
