Port Vale manager John Askey says that Salford City’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw with the Valiants should not have stood. Askey says there was a foul on goalkeeper Scott Brown that should have been spotted.
The Valiants drew 1-1 with Salford with the returning Mitch Clark setting up the opener on the hour mark. However, Salford equalised on 75 minutes through striker Tom Elliott’s controversial strike.
Speaking to the media after the match Askey commented: “I thought in the first-half we were definitely the better team.
