A Home Office government report says that the Football League Trophy had the highest arrest rate of any domestic competition last season.
According to the report, the Football League Trophy saw 22.6 arrests per thousand fans. Of the seventy fans who were arrested during last season, 62 of those arrested were Stoke City supporters.
Last season’s infamous Football League Trophy clash prompted national media coverage after away supporters damaged the Hamil Road stand and vandalism inside and outside of the Vale Park stadium.
