Not easy decisions to make but several are simply not good enough for Vale’s next season squad. I am afraid that Whitehead, Joyce and Dan Trickett-Smith will need to look elsewhere. Joyce does not always perform and being sent off at Cheltenham and his terrible attempted back pass against Grimsby will linger in my mind.

Conlon, Taylor and Burgess are all very capable players and although Conlon has had an outstanding season Taylor and Burgess need the Manager’s attention to get them giving the contributions which will make them regular first team selections.

Conlon may be subject to a move to a higher level. Burgess was great as was Taylor. Keep both and get the best out of them.
Joyce possibly unless there is a better option.
Whitehead – No, not seen enough of Trickett-Smith tbh
