New Port Vale signing Max Watters says it was a “no brainer” to sign a two year deal with the Valiants.
The former Barnsley and Crawley striker told the in-house PVTV that it was an “amazing feeling” to get the deal completed. Asked about his thoughts after finalising the move he said he felt: “Amazing. To get this deal done early in the pre-season, it’s an amazing feeling.”
Speaking to everyone who is associated with the club, everyone speaks very highly of how everything is done. The ownership to the players to the managership. It’s a massive club and the fans were amazing when I’ve played here before…
The forward said it was an easy decision to opt to join the Valiants adding: “Speaking to everyone who is associated with the club, everyone speaks very highly of how everything is done. The ownership to the players to the managership. It’s a massive club and the fans were amazing when I’ve played here before. After everything I heard it was a no-brainer. Everything sounded so good for me and I couldn’t wait to come.”
Watters says he aims to put in plenty of effort saying fans can expect to see: “Hard work, dedication I’ll always be in the box and I’ll always try and score goals and help the team any way I can.”
He’s also looking forward to the opportunity to gel with the rest of the squad at the team’s summer training camp adding: “It’s massive for the players, pre-season, to have a little camp. If you get the connections off the pitch it makes it easier on the pitch. It allows enough time to get to know everyone on and off the pitch.”
