Veteran winger Onel Hernandez, who enjoyed an impressive end to last season, has agreed a one year contract with Port Vale.
The former Norwich City player, 33, was one of a number of free agents to join the club under Jon Brady. Hernandez took some time to get match fit but when he was selected in the final games of the season, he dazzled at time with his close control and skills.
Hernandez has 15 caps for Cuba as well as extensive Championship experience with the likes of Charlton Athletic and Norwich City. He played eleven times for the Vale last season.
Manager Jon Brady commented: “Onel is an exciting attacking prospect for us and we’re delighted to see him stay here with us at Vale Park. We saw the best of him late on in the season, and he has returned looking fit and ready for the new campaign. We’re looking forward to seeing more of him next year.”

Reckon this will he received a lot better by the fans than the previous announcement of Faal. I’m looking forward to hernandez doing his thing, let’s hope we get some strikers in to put it in the back of the net.
Hernandez can provide high quality flank service for the strikers.
