It’s been a while since we updated our star man table and in that time George Hall, Ben Heneghan and Kyle John have all won the star man award multiple times.
Given Port Vale’s terrible form, it’s perhaps a moot point who is voted the best performer and the team’s inconsistency is perhaps illustrated by the spread of winners (and the fact that the loaned out Ruari Paton still tops the leaderboard). We did give thought to abandoning this feature but as many of you still enter player ratings, we felt that would be unfair.
The latest results see Heneghan move to second place, John into third place and Hall into fourth place – while Ethon Archer has had a strong start to his Vale stay with two MOTM awards already.

About these awards
After every first-team game, there will be an opportunity to rate every Vale player out of ten. We check the results after three days and the player (or players) with the highest rating is named our star man. In addition, we will produce the average marks for every player at the end of the season.
