Yes timing is not great but assuming this has been in process, why oh why have we not sourced a replacement. Going onto a massive game tomorrow with such limited striking options is unbelievable. I am very intrigued to see who we bring in as a replacement/s because anybody any good already taken so am waiting with bated breath for the announcement/s . Perhaps Mr Moore should call up Popey cos I’d be willing to stake a fiver on him scoring more goals than all the above combined!!!

Oh dear… 4 league games played and only 2 goals. 1 by a defender and the other by our top scorer from last season then we go and sell him.. makes no sense. Left with 2 stickers who run around like headless chickens, 1 loan stricker that can’t run as fast as my gran and 2 unfit stickers, 1 who was loaned out last year as he wasn’t good enough for league 2..

Shocked and disappointed. That Tolaj chose to sign for another League 1 club instead of further developing at Vale is surprising. Perhaps it’s Plymouth’s location, and playing in front of 15,000 home gates. Commercially I understand why Vale accepted £1.2 million, but if asked which player would be sold would have said Walters given his absence from the team. It’s a fact of life following Vale that best players are likely sold. I recall the shock sale of top scorer John Rowland to Mansfield in September 1966 for £6,000, followed 20 plus years later by Andy Jones to Charlton. It’s up to Moore and team to find Tolaj’s replacement quick sharp, in a move that could define the club’s season.

Tolaj to me was a player with passion and energy ,who encouraged others in the team… a loss that we have no replacement. Really disappointed with the decision so early in the season, when we need players with the credentials of Tolaj. Smith also, I feel was a loss for Vale. If we are serious as a club to remain in League1 then I struggle with the thinking of these two players leaving our club.

Any forward Vale may be interested in the price has just doubled now clubs know we have money in the bank. I’m not convinced Moore got the best out of Tolaj so I’ll expect him to go on and score a lot more goals for Plymouth than he did at Vale. It will give Moore the opportunity to bring in a few more wingbacks! Are Aldershot entitled to a percentage of the 1.2 million do we know?

I cant blame the player has hes probably doubling his wages at Plymouth. But i genuinely believe hes impossible to replace at this level. Laurent is different class. Unreal touch, holds the ball up, scores goals in a team deprived of goal scorers. Whoever they bring in will not be at Tolaj’s level. Gutting news. Need to splash the cash ASAP. Id snap your hand off right now to finish this season in 20th position after this news.

At the end of the day we had no choice with the release clause,, good luck to him ,,I also fer the worst unless we get a proven striker to partner faal,, gota stay positive still.

Typical Port Vale everyone knows the team needs to score goals to stay up so what do they do it’s a no brainier sell our best striker! The owners and manager have built this season up and up (we have learnt from the last promotion, this time we are ready support the club and team by buying season tickets we are strengthening the team manager acknowledges a striker or strikers are required trust us we have the best interests of the club Port Vale is the heart of the community) . My faith in the owners and manager has plummeted in a few hours.

Lack of ambition on behalf of the club. Going to be a long and non reward season. To sell Tolaj with other strikers injured and only Youth team to fall back is awful situation. Managers position must come under scrutiny because at this stage we are heading towards div 2.

No goals equals relegation and having been relegated last time for the same reason it shows the club don’t learn from the past. No decent players seeing this lack of ambition will want to join the club. Should carol now consider selling the club before we become non league and penniless

The owners manager and chief executive talk the talk but when money is dangling in front of them the priority of keeping the club in L1 sinks to the bottom of the abyss. Was any attempt made to talk to Tolaj or had he already decided that Plymouth offered him a better chance to develop as a player and striker? The wheels are starting to wobble on the Vale bus only the signing of a proven goal scoring striker before the transfer window closes will show me that the club do intend to fight to stay in L1.

The selling of Tolaj had nothing to do with the club soon as the release clause is met it’s the players choice not the clubs. Also contrary to some Vale fans beliefs we are not Real Madrid and that sort of profit is absolutely key to the clubs survival. I doubt there will be any investment as I suspect the powers that be have accepted we are going down and don’t want to spend to keep us up, that’s all too evident in what we brought in all recent signings are absolute and utter garbage. This squad has no chance of staying up but we should do ok again in league 2 !

League 2 is a no no but with Moore in charge it is more than possible.For the last 2 pre season players injured and some long term. There now appears to be a toxic system within the club.
