New Port Vale loan signing Alfie Devine has said he’ll try and entertain people during his time in Burslem.
The highly rated young midfielder joined the Valiants on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur. He joins Oliver Arblaster, Josh Thomas and Kofi Balmer who have also joined on loan this season.
When the opportunity came, I jumped straight at it…
Interviewed after joining the Valiants he told the Port Vale media team: “Everyone’s made me feel very welcome. It’s been good. When the opportunity came, I jumped straight at it. After we sat down with the manager and he told me what his plans were for bringing me on loan. As soon as I heard that I was here straight away and looking forward to it.”
The youngster also wants to get the fans off their seats adding: “I just try to be exciting to watch. I don’t want people coming… watching me and being bored. I want to excite people and I play with that energy, a real good energy.”
Asked about what he wanted to gain from the loan Devine added: “I just want to improve as a player and as a person. I think coming into a new team and on your first loan it’s ten times different to what you’d expect at a club playing U21s.”
