BBC Radio Stoke’s Phil Bowers says that Port Vale were close to signing a Championship forward but ultimately missed out to a Danish side.
Speaking on BBC Radio Stoke’s pre-match coverage programme, Bowers says that the Valiants were interested in a loan move for Millwall’s young striker Tyler Burey.
However, the striker subsequently agreed a permanent three year deal with Danish side Odense.
The Valiants are reportedly keen to boost their forward options ahead of the transfer window closing.
22 year-old Burey began his career with AFC Wimbledon before agreeing to sign for Millwall. He had a loan spell with Hartlepool United before breaking into the Millwall side, making 24 appearances in the Championship last season.

A great result and goals not being relied on one man.
