Port Vale manager Andy Crosby felt the game time was “valuable” despite Port Vale running out 3-0 losers in a behind closed-doors friendly against West Brom.
The match was Vale’s first competitive game of the summer and Crosby said it: “was a great chance to get some valuable minutes in the legs of some of the lads in our continued preparations for the League season.”
Vale fielded a number of youngsters and Crosby added: “They’ve impressed in training over the past few weeks. It was good to see them put into practice what they’ve been picking up on the training ground. It will also help with their development further down the line.”
