Jordan Shipley leaves Port Vale as he joins Cheltenham Town

One of Port Vale’s four transfer listed players has left Vale Park with the news that midfielder Jordan Shipley has left the Valiants.

Shipley was signed last summer but never really found any kind of form while in a Vale shirt. When Jon Brady released his retained list he was one of four under contract players to be transfer listed. He made 33 appearances, scoring twice.

The 28-year-old worked with Cheltenham boss Steve Cotterill at Shrewsbury Town and he said Cotterill was a “big factor” in the move.

“As soon as I heard the gaffer wanted me here it was a no brainer,” Shipley told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Port Vale said that they “thank Jordan for the time he spent in Burslem and wish him the best of luck with his career.”
