Jackson Smith player profile

Port Vale signed goalkeeper Jackson Smith for an undisclosed fee from Barnsley in the summer of 2026. It followed the departures of Ben Amos and loanee Joe Gauci.

Smith began his career at Wolves and had a successful loan spell at Grimsby Town during the 2025-26 season.

Manager Jon Brady commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jackson to Vale Park, he is a player who has already gained valuable experience at this level and has proven he has what it takes to provide a steady and reassuring presence at the back.

“After speaking to him, it is clear that despite his already fantastic attributes, he is hungry to learn and improve and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Everyone at the club would like to welcome Jackson to Vale Park and wish him every success in black and white.”
