Port Vale manager Jon Brady appears to be under no illusions of the task ahead as he prepares to rebuild the Valiants next season.
After a disastrous season, relegation was confirmed following a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City and Port Vale will start next season back in League Two.
It takes a lot of hard work and we are prepared to roll our sleeves up and work hard…
Speaking after that game Brady said: “It takes a lot of work. I’ve been there before. I have done it with another club and been through that. It takes a lot of hard work and we are prepared to roll our sleeves up and work hard.”
Brady also revealed that the club had started preparing for relegation some time ago adding: “Discussions happened a while ago. We are working very hard and planning. The reality was, in the position we were in, it was probably 80-20 that we would go down. We were realistic but also hopeful. But we have been planning. We are trying to put the right things in place to make sure the recruitment is the best it can be, to make sure we then have the best squad we can with the resources we have.”
