New Port Vale manager Jon Brady has told the media that his aim is to get the Valiants “back on track”.
Brady says that winning games is the aim and that he and his team have “got to deliver”.
He spoke to BBC Radio Stoke on his arrival saying: “Everyone here has been really welcoming. I’ve been with the players for the first time today and it’s been good to get to know them.”
The manager was quite guarded on transfer window activity saying: “Yes, there are things we need to do. Obviously it’s very early but anything I want to do I want to keep quite private.”
Brady also met the squad saying: “They seem fantastic human beings and they are (humans) first and foremost and thereafter footballers. All we want to try and do is make them the best they can be and deliver for this football club and try and win games. We’ve got seventeen weeks to go. We’ve got a lot of football to play.”
He wants the players to deliver some non-negotiables for him which to him are: “Firstly how much do they enjoy their football. Do they enjoy it? See that hunger in what they are doing? Are they aggressive, can they communicate to their team mates, does it mean a lot to them? If we can deliver those non-negotiables then tactically we can help and we can start winning football matches. I want us to be aggressive. I want us to win more duels than the opposition. It has to mean everything to these players. If we can get those right then we can build on how we want to play and what we want to do.”
The new boss says that only wins will do if he wants to get the backing of the supporters saying: “I know we can get people onside but you’ve got to win football matches to get people onside. You’ve got to deliver. I can sit here and talk (but) we’ve got to deliver. I am really am motivated to be here first and foremost. I want to make change. All I want to do is get us back on track, win football matches, help Carol and Kevin and help the fans reconnect to the team. Fans see a team they can really resonate with and the boys can be proud of the job they are doing.”
I know we can get people onside but you’ve got to win football matches to get people onside. You’ve got to deliver. I can sit here and talk (but) we’ve got to deliver…

I will give the new manager that,”you have got to deliver “ I never heard Mr Moore say that.
