New Zealand striker Ben Waine reflected on his most productive week as a Vale player as “pretty good.”
Waine came back in from the cold to score his first goal for the club in the 5-0 Trophy win over Barnsley and then capped a great week with another in a 1-0 FA Cup second round win over Bristol Rovers.
Speaking to the club’s PVTV team, Waine said the week had been a “Pretty good one.”
The forward was pleased with the performance against Rovers adding: “The game was really physical but I felt we dealt with it well. I was little bit frustrated with the first-half as a I had a better, easier chance so that’s always going to play on your mind. I thought there’s a chance and I’m glad I took it and put it away.”
Waine has had to be patience waiting for his opportunity and he told PVTV his attitude was to “make sure you’re ready and I’m just glad I’ve been putting the work in. Everyone in the changing room has been very good with me and supportive.”
