Port Vale manager Darren Moore says that wingback Jordan Gabriel is set to be out long-term after picking up an injury against AFC Wimbledon.
Moore told BBC Radio Stoke: “Jordan Gabriel is a sad one. He’s going to be out for a substantial amount of time. He had the incident at Wimbledon last week and the report that come back is not great. So we lose him which is a shame because he’s just started to turn the corner with his performances.”
It leaves Vale short of options on the right flank. Mitch Clark is also missing through injury but there was a boost with Kyle John returning to action on Saturday. On the left flank, Liam Gordon is another long-term absentee.
There is mixed news on Vale’s other injured defenders with Moore commenting that Jaheim Headley is close to a comeback but Cam Humphreys is still being assessed. Moore commented: “Cam Humphreys is another one that we just have to see how he is. He’s still nursing a muscular injury and he’s in the treatment table with the physios and we’ll hopefully try and get him back sooner rather than later. We’ll only put him out there if we’re absolutely sure. Jaheim’s back in training so we’ll see how he goes. He’s got some time to get some volume into him.”

This is a real shame as Jordan was playing well up to that point. Hope he recovers quickly and can get back to form. Vale need his skills sooner rather than later.
