Port Vale manager Darren Moore says that wingback Kyle John, striker Jayden Stockley and goalkeeper Ben Amos are all in contention for the home game against Northampton Town.
The manager told the PVTV media team that three players had recovered from injury. Moore said that he was “pleased that Kyle John is back in it. Jayden Stockley is back. Ben Amos is back in contention.”
Commenting on the goalkeeper competition Moore added: “to have three keepers in Ben (Amos), Marko (Marosi) and Joe (Gauci) at our disposal is a really fantastic and a healthy position. It is a stronger department than what we worked with last year. On the flipside, Mitch Clark is out and Liam Gordon is going to be out for some considerable time.”
Moore told the media team that Northampton are: “Tough opposition with a great manager in Kevin Nolan. They’ve got a really experienced backroom team that knows the League inside out. They are showing their experience to the group.”
The Port Vale boss says their success is built on defensive strength adding: “Beating Bolton Wanderers 2-0 last week was an outstanding result but it’s been a result based on a defensive record that is very good. I think they’ve had four clean sheets in the last five games. You can see why they are doing well in the League and why they are solid opponents. They’ve also got some players in the front end of the pitch who if you leave areas of the pitch exposed they will capitalise on it. They will provide a tough test and that’s what League One does.”
Moore says Vale’s home form is vital for a successful season commenting: “It is key. You always want to get your home form going. We do feel that here at Vale Park we have been playing well. We have to continue that mindset. Playing at Vale Park means so much to us all.”

It is good to have all three players fit , but y chuck all three back into the starting line-up straight away. 3 wins in 3 means we have good team .
Having John back is a big positive given the injuries to Clark/Gordon.
