Port Vale have confirmed the loan signing of Derby County’s Jamaica U23 striker Dajaune Brown on a season-long deal.
Vale have been searching for forward additions following the £1.2m transfer of Lorent Tolaj to Plymouth Argyle. Brown will join fellow loanee Mo Faal in the Vale strikeforce.
The 19-year-old spent 2023-2024 on loan at Gateshead, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances. He also has 16 Championship appearances for parent club Derby County, scoring once.
Standing six foot tall, Brown has played twice for the Jamaica U23 squad.
Manager, Darren Moore, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Dajaune to the club for the remainder of the campaign – he’s someone we’ve been monitoring for a while now and a player who we feel can really add to what we’re doing here at Port Vale.”

Is this signing for squad cover mainly from the bench, or the direct replacement for Tolaj? We’ll have a better idea when this transfer window closes.
Good signing in my book. Glad we don’t post on X any more .
