Darren Moore on Ben Heneghan – “he was a colossus”

Darren Moore reserved special praise for defender Ben Heneghan after his performance in the 1-0 League Cup win over Blackpool.

Heneghan was drafted into the starting eleven and made captain for the night. He emphasised his value with a superb defensive performance that included a one-on-one tackle and a clearance off the line. Heneghan was named man of the match in our match report of the game.

Speaking to the media after the game, Moore said: “He was a Colossus. You don’t want to single anyone out but goodness me was he in the right place at the right time.”

“He headed everything and blocked efforts when maybe one or two of his team mates got themselves into a bit of bother. I am really pleased for Ben, he led by example.”
