Port Vale’s 150th anniversary kit has been hailed as “a thing of beauty” by fans of other clubs and has been purchased by nearly 2,000 Vale fans within days of being launched.
The kit was designed to celebrate the club’s 150th year and is inspired by the famed 1953-54 Iron Curtain side. It contains no front of shirt sponsor.
The kit has generally received a favourable response from Vale fans and national tabloid the Sun has published an article on the positive reaction to the shirt.
An event to celebrate the kit launch has seen over 1,850 shirts sold within days of the kit’s launch.

Clearly no design can please everyone and there have been some criticism, mainly centering around the shade of white used (which appears cream to some). However, Patrick Shanahan, who was responsible for the design of the kit, told the club’s media team that the shade is representative of the 1950’s when today’s brilliant white colour was not available for clothing.
It certainly seems that the vast majority love the new design and that bodes well for the club who could now sell thousands of replicas during the forthcoming season.
You can purchase the kit online through the club shop website.

A great shirt. Best design in years.
Very nice shirt, hope the club follow a similar theme with the away shirt, Black & Amber stripes please……
Would love the old black and amber stripes for the away strip,as anthoney says i remember it well
