Port Vale have announced that former Walsall defender Liam Gordon has joined as their third summer addition.
Gordon joins Rico Richards and Jordan Gabriel in being signed by the Vale this season.
The 26 year-old Guyana International left-back joins the newly-promoted Valiants on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Walsall, having made 56 appearances for club and country over the course of the 2024/25 season.
Port Vale manager, Darren Moore, told the official Port Vale website: “Liam is an exciting player who fits the profile of what we’re looking for here at Vale Park and we’re delighted that he’s joining us. He’s a good man and character who has wonderful qualities to his game.
“He arrives with prior experience at this level, as well as on the international stage, so will add real quality to the group. We’re all looking forward to welcoming him in.”

I really don’t understand what’s going on, how many more fullbacks or wingbacks does he need ? (Is that 7 with Shorrock and Plant). It’s early days but judging by the calibre of players Moore has signed so far, there doesn’t seem to be the money around as there was last year. We do need to improve the squad but as of yet, we have nothing better than what we had last season. Mansfield found out how tough league ONE can be, and with the teams going up bigger and better than the teams that went down, it will be even tougher.
