Jordan Gabriel, the club’s first signing of the summer, says he’s “excited” to have joined Port Vale.
The 26 year-old agreed a two-year deal at the weekend after leaving League One rivals Blackpool.
There’s an identity about the club and there’s a plan to go forward and that’s what I enjoy. I can’t wait to get started…
He told the club’s media team: “I’m just excited to get my football going again so being here is something I’m very excited about.
“It stood out to me, it being such a great club. There’s an identity about the club and there’s a plan to go forward and that’s what I enjoy. I can’t wait to get started.
The new signing is keen to work with Darren Moore saying the Vale boss’ influence is “Massive. I’ve worked with George Byers before. When I met him and spoke to him on the phone I could see what sort of manager and what sort of person he is. I can’t wait.”
Gabriel was also pleased to be the club’s first signing ahead of the new season adding: “To be the first signing of a club is always nice. Now it’s time to settle down, I can find where I’m going to live, settle my kids, a place for my missus… it gives us enough time before pre-season. So, it’s nice.”
Asked what he’ll bring on the pitch the new signing said: “I’ll give everything. From what I’ve been told I’m an entertaining player. I enjoy to play football and hopefully the fans can see that.”

I think we have a new good wingback and put Jessi in with him and we will have a strong back two
Suggested back four of Mitch Clark, Jesse Debrah , Connor Hall and Jordan Gabriel with Ben Heneghan making a five when required. Wing backs in Mitch and Jordan with back 3 of Jesse, Connor and Ben as and when tactics dictate.
