A free scoring Vale performance saw them overcome Bromley and go to the top of the League Two table.
First-half
An early goal from Jack Shorrock and a second from in-form Lorent Tolaj saw Vale take a two goal advantage into the break.
Shorrock’s opener came from a Vale break with the recalled teenager finishing well from the influential Tolaj’s pass.
Shorrock tried to repay the favour as his cross was finished off by Tolaj but the effort was ruled out for offside.
However, the Swiss striker was not to be denied as he scored the second goal after latching on to a cross from Ryan Croasdale.
Half-time: Port Vale 2-0 Bromley
Second-half
Vale had to weather some Bromley pressure before they made the game safe with three second-half goals.
Darren Moore had brought on George Byers and Ronan Curtis in the 65th minute and just a minute after coming on, Byers netted from close range to make it 3-0.
Just two minutes later, Tolaj then scored his second after he latched onto a ball over the top to expertly finish. The icing on the cake came in the 82nd minute when player of the season Ryan Croasdale tapped in sub Jerry Umolu’s cross to make it 5-0.
There were mass celebrations at the end after arguably the performance of the season. Tolaj and Croasdale both had excellent games but this was a superb all-round performance from the team with everyone playing their part. Vale may just have hit form at the right time.
Full-time: Port Vale 5-0 Bromley
Team: Amos – Debrah, Smith, Hall – Clark, Croasdale, Walters (Byers), Shorrock (Hart) – Garrity (Richards) – Tolaj (Umolu), Stockley (Curtis)

High 5 ..
Fantastic my man of the game PORT VALE FC, that played as a unit great to watch, every player pulled their weight.
Outstanding performance all round the park. No need for man of the match as all played their part. Goal difference looks much better and onto Friday what could be a very competitive game. Let’s hope we keep going and get another 9 points which should see us over the line bbut two tough away matches and not take anything for granted. Forever Vale.
What a result and performance. Four crucial wins on the bounce against the league’s better teams. Moore’s emphatically answered some critics, even though his recent selections and tactics were more or less what supporters had been demanding.
What a difference from what we were watching, open flowing attacking football. I’ve no complaints as long as the manager continues in this vain. Bromley deserve credit for their part in a very entertaining game, instead of just turning up and playing 5 at the back and stifling the midfield with just 1 up front, they came to play football. It did help Vale immensely as it stretched the game, leaving gaps for the likes of Tolaj, Garrity and Croasdale to exploit. The 3 substitutions did look as if it might weaken the team but I think the quick goal we scored just after their arrival took the wind out of Bromley’s sails. Like everyone else I was very impressed by Bromley’s right winger (who puts me in mind of Ainsworth, strong quick and direct). At their place earlier in the season he terrorised Vales back line, especially in the first 45 minutes. Certainly one to watch if he should ever become available. Results have certainly gone our way and along with our own good form leaves us in a very good and surprising position. Let’s just hope it continues!
I have supported Port Vale since I was about 8- even though I have always lived in Kent. I came to Vale Park with my relatives from Mercia (midlands) and we all loved the match against Bromley- beautiful weather, atmosphere and result. I always see Vale at Gillingham or Charlton or Bromley but rarely come to Burslem and today was a golden day on a golden afternoon- let’s us pray for the championship position at the end of the season- hail the Vale.
