Port Vale matchwinner Jayden Stockley said celebrating his late winner against local rivals Crewe was “an incredible feeling.”

Stockley headed in late on to give Vale a hard fought 1-0 away win and the veteran striker was delighted.

That’s why you play football, for moments like that. It is an incredible feeling and I wish I could bottle it forever…

He told the media: “That is a moment I will remember for a long time, hopefully it has a significant meaning this season.

“To do that in front of a packed away end….as soon as it popped up, before I had even got contact with it, I was just thinking about wheeling off right in front of them.

“That’s why you play football, for moments like that. It is an incredible feeling and I wish I could bottle it forever.”
