Former Port Vale manager Andy Crosby will face his former club on Saturday morning for the first time since leaving the Valiants.
Crosby has been placed in temporary charge of Tranmere Rovers following the dismissal of Nigel Adkins earlier this week. Adkins was dismissed following a 1-0 loss to Accrington Stanley, the club’s fifth loss in seven games. The match against Port Vale is an early kick-off and will be broadcast on Sky Sports.
Crosby, who had had two previous interim spells as Port Vale manager, was appointed on a permanent basis in the summer of 2023 but was sacked in January 2024 after a poor run of form.
His record as permanent Port Vale manager was fourteen wins in 44 games, a win ratio of 31%. After leaving, Crosby said he wanted to thank the owners, staff, players and fans for their “amazing support, hard work and enthusiasm during my time at the football club and wish the club all the best.”
