Speaking after the defeat to Gillingham, Port Vale manager Darren Moore confirmed that captain Ben Garrity will be missing for several weeks through injury.
Garrity missed out on the game in Kent with Tom Sang playing alongside Ryan Croasdale. Garrity’s injury means Vale’s central midfield options are somewhat limited with playmaker George Byers also still on the sidelines. Moore’s other options are veteran Jason Lowe and new signing Rakeem Harper. Harper’s inclusion seems to depend on his match fitness, having not played a game yet this season. He may get a chance to impress in the Football League Trophy game against Wrexham in midweek.
Speaking of Garrity, Moore told the media: “Just to clarify with Ben, he sustained an injury and the scan results came back in the week and we predict that he is going to be out for some weeks now.”

Sorry boss but Jason Lowe not up to it as he hasn’t been since we signed him.
What a big miss he’ll be already showed in our last 2 games in midfield. ⚽
Garrity will be a big miss in midfield as we’ve seen in the last two games. Onwards and upwards ⚽
