The summer trialist signed a one-year deal with the club in August 2024 after impressing manager Darren Moore.

An exciting winger, Edwards had previously been a player with Reading and Southampton, making one senior appearance prior to joining the Valiants.

“Diamond has spent the majority of the summer on trial with us and has impressed throughout,” said manager Darren Moore. “He is an exciting player who likes to play on the front foot and get at defenders to create chances.”

Edwards enjoyed a dream debut as he scored just five minutes after coming on as a sub in a Football League Trophy win over Salford City. However, that was undoubtedly the highlight of his stay in Burslem.

In January he joined Weymouth FC on loan followed by a spell at Hampton and Richmond.  He was then released at the end of the campaign.
