Port Vale secured the signature of former Ireland International Ronan Curtis on a three year deal in May 2024.

Curtis began his career with Derry City before being snapped up by Portsmouth where he quickly became a fans favourite. He was a free agent after a brief spell with AFC Wimbledon. The winger has also won International caps with the Republic of Ireland.

On signing the player manager Darren Moore commented: ” am delighted to welcome Ronan to the Vale. He’s a player with a proven calibre above League Two level and we are really pleased that he has chosen to commit to the club long-term amidst strong interest in both League One and League Two.

“He is a player with wonderful technical ability and experience. His versatility adds an exciting dynamic to the squad, which I’m sure will be appreciated by our supporters, and I am really looking forward to welcoming Ronan to the club.”

He enjoyed helping the club to promotion in his first season – the first promotion of his career. In January 2026, he was sold to Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.
