Ronan Curtis: Port Vale make first signing of the summer
Port Vale have made their first signing of the summer after confirming the signature of Ronan Curtis on a three year deal.
The 28 year-old winger was most recently at AFC Wimbledon and has four Republic of Ireland International caps. He has scored 86 times in 343 senior appearances.
Manager Darren Moore said of the signing: “I am delighted to welcome Ronan to the Vale. He’s a player with a proven calibre above League Two level and we are really pleased that he has chosen to commit to the club long-term amidst strong interest in both League One and League Two.
“He is a player with wonderful technical ability and experience. His versatility adds an exciting dynamic to the squad, which I’m sure will be appreciated by our supporters, and I am really looking forward to welcoming Ronan to the club.”

Does anyone know why the lad only played 16 games for Wimbledon last season. Was he injured or unable to get into the team ? Whichever, again we seem to giving a lengthy contract to someone who played very few games last season. Something we said we had learned not to do from previous experiences.

For League 2 level, this is a quality signing. The 3 year contract might raise eyebrows, but likely necessary to secure his services. An encouraging start to the Vale’s reset.
