Port Vale deadline day rumours – “at least two signing”
On January Deadline Day morning, here is a round-up of all the latest transfer rumours involving Port Vale…
What we know so far…
It’s been a busy window for Vale. Loanees Josh Thomas, Kofi Balmer and (more damagingly) Alfie Devine and Ollie Arblaster have all been recalled while former skipper Tom Conlon has left for Oldham. Incomings so far are Man Utd youngster Dan Gore, Brighton’s Jenson Weir and Liverpool Rhys Williams, all on loan.
Director of Football David Flitcroft suggested during the fans forum that the club would only add loan signings during the window. He suggested that two loans could come in – one from a Championship club and another (believed to be left wingback Zak Sturge from Chelsea) from a Premier League Club.
However, with the likes of Ben Garrity, Funso Ojo and (perhaps more worryingly) Uche Ikpeazu all injured, will the club’s priorities change? They are leaving it late if they do…
What social media is saying…
Latest tweets suggest Vale moves for Oliver Burke and a Barnsley defender…
Port Vale are chasing a number of targets, and are hopeful of completing at least two signing today, I am told. #pvfc #DeadlineDay

First incoming at Vale Park today – Oliver Burke. The winger has had his loan at championship outfit Birmingham terminated, and will now immediately join Port Vale on loan until the end of the season. #BCFC #pvfc #DeadlineDay

Will believe these when announced by the club. Hope they are ready to play, but suspect they will not be in the team at Fleetwood, or any of the next 4 or 5 games as our last minute signings are normally players nobody else wants because they are injured
