Lewis Cass goes on loan to Stockport County
Port Vale have confirmed that defender Lewis Cass has moved on loan to League Two side Stockport County until the end of the season.
Cass initially joined the Valiants on loan after a previous successful spell for National League side Hartlepool Utd. He impressed but his loan spell was cut short in January due to a serious injury.
The defender then rejoined the club on a permanent basis in the summer of 2023 following the club’s promotion to League One. He made 24 appearances last season but has fallen out of the first-team squad in recent weeks and was widely expected to depart during the transfer window.
Director of Football David Flitcroft told the official website: “This loan move will be good for Lewis, he has found himself without consistent game time at Vale Park this season and will benefit from increased minutes at Stockport County. We wish Lewis all the best with the move and the rest of the season.”
