Drain pain for Port Vale fans during Tuesday night fixture
Port Vale FC have announced that temporary toilets will be in place for the Hamil End and the Tommy Cheadle’s pub after a drain collapsed in the stadium car park.
It’s another blow for facilities at the ground after a storm damaged the toilet block in the Railway Paddock causing temporary toilets to be installed there until the end of the season.
However, unlike the Railway Paddock work, which won’t take place until the summer, the club only expect these current issues to effect one home game with the drain being repaired before the game with Stevenage.
A statement from Claire Halkett, Director of Operations on the current issue said: “We have identified and are in the process of getting a collapsed drain in Car Park C repaired. Initial thoughts and assessments were that it could be managed until the end of the season limiting impact on supporters, however, it has become increasingly obvious that remedial work would need to be completed as soon as possible.
“With this in mind, supporters who have tickets in the Hamil Road Stand for Tuesday Night’s game will not have access to the usual toilets in the stand, instead there will be temporary toilets placed outside.
“Supporters who wish to transfer their tickets for this game to another stand should contact the club store who will be more than happy to accommodate the request.
“The collapsed drain will also impact Tommy Cheadle’s, The Foundation Building and our Club Store with no toilet facilities available in either of those buildings.
“The work will begin on Wednesday 7th February and will hopefully be completed prior to Saturday’s game against Stevenage. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
