“Remain keen” – local media say Port Vale are still interested in striker deal
The Yorkshire Post says Port Vale are one of two League One clubs who remain interested in signing Bradford City striker Jake Young.
Young was recalled by Bradford earlier this month after a spell which saw him score sixteen times in twenty six appearances for Swindon Town. The 21 year-old stands six foot one inches tall and has thirty two goals from 117 career appearances.
Speculation is rife that Young will be sold during the transfer window as he is yet to make an appearance for Bradford since his return. Players can only play for two clubs during a season so playing for Bradford would make Young ineligible for a move. Bradford claim the player is injured.
Carlisle United ruled themselves out of contention this week saying the price wanted for Young was “a ridiculous figure” and that “we can’t afford him.” If that is the case for Carlisle, who have funds available after a takeover then it seems somewhat unlikely that the Valiants would make a bid but nevertheless the local media claim Vale are still interested.
The Yorkshire Post says: “Exeter City and Port Vale remain keen on Young.”
